Welcome to the American Journalism Historians Association's 39th annual convention!

Free registration is required to receive access details for sessions and other important conference information. Registration closed at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Sept. 25.

The program features a full slate of research paper presentations and panel discussions covering the gamut of mass communication history topics. We also will hear from our Blanchard Dissertation Prize and Book of the Year honorees in special sessions dedicated to their award-winning research. (Visit the Awards page for information on them and all of our annual award winners.)

If you want to stay busy during the 30-minute breaks between sessions, compete for prizes in our AJHA Trivia Scavenger Hunt.

We also will have a 30-minute afternoon "coffee break" between sessions at 3 p.m. Eastern time Friday, Oct. 2, and 3:30 p.m. Eastern time Saturday, Oct. 3. Stop by for a chat with your old AJHA friends, or make some new ones.

For a special treat, join us Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. Eastern time for a talk/performance by past president Julie Hedgepeth Williams as she discusses frontier newspaperwoman Carrie Ingalls. Stay after Julie's talk for Historical Figure Happy Hour -- dress up as your favorite historical figure, or use a photo of one as your Zoom background!

Registered participants will receive AJHA Zoom backgrounds that they can use in the paper and panel sessions.
