Conveniently located on North Main Street in downtown Memphis, the Sheraton Downtown Memphis Hotel is the official hotel of the convention, where most of the convention activities will take place.

The hotel is a few footsteps away from the Main Street Trolley (a part of MATA, the Memphis Area Transit Authority) that can take you to Beale Street for the winning combination of the blues and barbeque.  The hotel is within one mile of The National Civil Rights Museum At The Lorraine Motel, The Blues Hall Of Fame Museum and the Legendary Sun Museum.  And if you’re driving, you can visit Graceland Mansion within 15 minutes. Memphis is also home to a host of other smaller museums, attractions and historical markers dedicated to the city’s contribution to Tennessee’s suffrage movement, the history of the recording industry and the arts.

For more recommendations with directions, see this guide the Convention hosts developed.

On-site amenities include the Crossroads Tavern and Grille.  A fitness center and indoor swimming pool are also available.

Memphis has public transit, but USA Today's guide indicates cabs or ride-share services are a better, faster option.

      Driving Directions:

Memphis lies at the intersection of I-55, I-40 and I-24. Anyone that’s driven in the South knows that this means three things: traffic, traffic and traffic! If you’re driving to the convention, be prepared for a lot of fast-moving cars and 18-wheelers with heavy loads. In addition, you can expect a lot of road construction and delays in the Memphis area. Use your GPS for directions, updated information, road closures, accidents and the best routes for reaching the hotel.

      Questions or problems?

If you have any issues booking in the AJHA room block, please contact Convention Coordinator Caryl Cooper.
