Those who attended the 2004 conference in Cleveland will remember it as one of for the record books! This year we return to Ohio for AJHA’s 42nd annual conference but this time we’ll be in Columbus, capital of the Buckeye State and home to the Ohio State Buckeyes. In addition to research paper presentations and panel discussions covering the gamut of mass communication history topics, the conference features several special events, including a tour of the Ohio History Connection and recognition of journalists from the host community. This year we’ll stay at the historic Westin Great Southern Columbus hotel, called “the showcase of the midwest” when it opened in 1897, then considered a marvel of French Renaissance architecture. With its second-floor promenade overlooking the majestic, open lobby, the Great Southern underwent a $10 million renovation in 2008. Click on the link and take the 3D photo tour.
