National ConventionLearn more about: Future Conventions | Past Conventions At American Journalism Historians Association's annual fall meeting, approximately 150 media historians participate in discussions on teaching and research. Scholars present peer-reviewed papers, participate in topical panel discussions, and generate ideas for articles and books. Papers, panel proposals, and research-in-progress submissions are due each year on June 1. The research chair presents awards for the best faculty and student papers as well as outstanding papers on topics related to women's history, minorities, media and war, and international/transnational journalism. The association also presents its annual awards for teaching, research, and service at the convention, and it recognizes outstanding local journalists at its opening reception and Donna Allen Luncheon--two special events that members look forward to each year. A unique aspect of AJHA is the opportunity attendees have to learn about the history and culture of the local region via special panels, speakers, group tours, and gala dinner venues. Conference hotels also are situated in lively downtown areas that afford attendees opportunities to experience local flavor within a short walk or public transportation ride. | ContactsConvention Sites Chair Convention Registrar Research Chair Panel Coordinator RIP Coordinator Program Coordinator |
